Urban URGEFirst of all, urban culture does not exist.
Culture you may find in the urban environments is transplanted from "outside" and it's been mutated or it has stayed untouched.
What makes urban environments culturally interesting is strong concentration of the cultures with different origins.In new urban and populated context they are interfering with each others and result of that mixture is that what makes urban places so culturally potent. But those mutations are not result of urban soil, but of power and capability to communicate and survive, each single culture is having in its nature. Simply, there is no town which is made for cultural interaction and culture is not product of urban given life style.
Towns are made on political and economical basis, and in the time, they become more interesting to live in than rural areas, same as political and economical forces become a dominant and the most attractive factors in human society. In their nature, they are having tendency to explore, and use everything what finds in the nature, everything what humans are doing naturally. Since culture is one of our fundamentally natural needs, it stays in focus . And that's why culture is explored, organized, so carefully observed, controlled and judged by political and economical structures, especially in urban environments. That's why urban culture is so dead and disconnected from natural human need to celebrate life in each and every part of its being. But still, need to express life experience is present, and it makes its function anyway. It floats around in Full power AND GRACE. Problem is that our awareness of it is manipulated and strongly determinated by basic urban modus vivendi- politics and economy. That's why power of culture, not culture of power is actually anti urban, and it gives it's message in any form of spontaneous and natural cultural happening. Messages are even clearer, stronger and more precise exactly in hyper urban environments, there where, more than anywhere else culture has to be liberalized, humanized, deofficialized, deprofitized, depoliticized, in one word deurbanized,
Here dwell the traditional bohemian artist. A mythological figure equipped with sandals, love, garret and easel, pursing dream shrouded designs. The cloud of mystery surrounding aesthetics can and should be dispelled. The dictionary definition of aestheticism is,- theory of beautiful in taste, art and life,- leaves me not much better of, then before. I just know that aesthetic is the tool, one of the most important one ,in my repertory, a tool that helps in shaping my forms and colours into entities that move me, please me, and are beautiful, exacting, filled with delight and meaning.
