[ Isla Larga ]
After four months of being in Venezuela and being called a "gringa" and "white", I finally got some damaged skin cells and adquired some colour. No sunburn this time around, now I have to practice on my Venezuelan accent...This past weekend we visited Isla Larga (Long Island, no relation to Long Island Iced Tea I am told) at about 40 minutes from Valencia, you have to travel to Playa Quizandal, which looked like any other caribbean beach, at the beach you park and take a ferry to the Island. (about 15 mintues) The Park is called San Esteban.
The island is not very wide and it works as a structure breaking the force of the waves, so that when you are on the other side you are pretty much on a pool of salt water. There were small fish and coral reef, a gorgeous, long beach. There´s a restaurant in the middle of the island, at about 5 minutes from the beach.
It was calm, relaxed, everyone there kept to themselves and enjoyed it, hopefully as much as we did.
